SHEEP THRILLS carries a spectacular selection of yarns (including unique colorways specially hand dyed for us), project bags (some that are specially made for SHEEP THRILLS) patterns, notions, looms, spinning wheels and books. We've also put together specialty kits to satisfy all of your interests including kits for projects featured in HAND WOVEN Magazine.

We offer classes geared to every level from beginner to expert to help you improve your skills and develop new talents and techniques. Basic skills classes (Learn How to . . .) in knitting, crocheting and weaving are offered on an ongoing basis on different days and at different times to fit your schedule. SHEEP THRILLS also offers a wide variety of project-specific classes to show you how to make sweaters, shawls, scarves, hats, gloves, bags and novelties that you will be proud to own or give as gifts. There are intermediate and advanced classes taught by our talented staff or by expert teachers, who we invite from all over the country, where experienced knitters, crocheters and weavers will learn the intricacies of advanced techniques such as, entrelac knitting, brioche, double knitting, short rows and color work. In a recent 30 day period SHEEP THRILLS was honored to have Stacy Charles (Tahki, Stacy, Charles), Barry Klein (Trendsetter), Deborah Jarchow (Weaving Superstar), StevenBe (Legendary) and Laura Bryant (Prism Yarns) at the shop. SHEEP THRILLS also has classes to teach you how to hand dye your own undyed yarn (which we sell), block and finish your projects, use KNIT COMPANION and design your own patterns.

We are constantly updating our yarn inventory so that you will find something new and interesting every time you visit our shop. We are constantly introducing new yarns to south Florida - mYak from Mongolia, Loopy Mango from the Florida Keys or Hanalei Hand-Dyed from Hawaii. SHEEP THRILLS has the largest selection of Malabrigo, Madelinetosh, The Fiber Seed, Anzula, Hedgehog, Black Cat Fibers, Three Irish Girls, Twisted Owl and other highly prized yarns from indie dyers and we are constantly adding new sources. We have just recently added spectacular alpaca yarns form LGF Suris, luxurious Lux Adorna Cashmere Kits, the incredibly vibrant colors of ArtFil hand-painted natural yarns and fashion forward "yarns of transformation" from Alchemy Yarns, to name a few. We are committed to having sufficient quantities on hand of the yarns we carry to make sure you will always be able to buy what you need to make your projects.

We have a great selection of knitting bags, gadget bags and specialty bags including Hug Me, Cali-Fame, Yazzii, Chic*a, Lantern Moon, Atenti, Hadaki, deLuxe Canvas Totes and Custom Made-to-Order Armed and Fabulous Designed bags, many of which are exclusive to SHEEP THRILLS. And, if you need any buttons we have thousands to choose from. We also have a great selection of notions, as well as patterns, books and magazines.

We have sharp and blunt needles in metal, resin, plastic, bamboo and three different types of wood and in sizes from US 000000 (as thin as wire) to US 100 (as thick as railroad spikes). We are one of only two authorized sellers of Signature Needles in Florida and carry the complete line. We also carry the full line of addi, Kollage, Sonic, Knitter's Pride Dreamz, Karbonz, Marbelz, Trendz, Platinas and Cubics, HiYa HiYa, ChaioGoo, Nirvana, Brittany, Waves and igKnites. We have ordered the full line of Knitter's Pride new Zing needles and hooks and are expecting delivery in August. When it comes to premium hooks or needles, "if we don't have it, they don't make it."

We are the Broward County's only dealer for Schacht looms including the Cricket and the new Lilli Mini-Tapestry Loom and we stock or can have quick-shipped their complete line including accessories. We also carry Ashford looms and spinning wheels and all the accessories to go with your loom or spinning wheel. To round out the selection, we ordered and are awaiting delivery of Louet's new Erica Loom

SHEEP THRILLS never charges for winding any of the yarns you buy from us and we are always available to offer personalized service, project inspiration, and ongoing support throughout your creative journey and, if you run into a problem that requires more, individual lessons are available at reasonable prices.

SHEEP THRILLS hosts trunk shows, sponsors knit-a-longs, oversees special projects for local charities that our customers vote to adopt, and organizes special trips and weekend retreats. For all of 2016 we organized and underwrote the CUDDLE BEAR PROJECT, a partnership with local law enforcement to provide kids, who are facing scary times, with a soft cuddly friend to make it a little less scary. It has been such a success that we have extended the project for 2017. SHEEP THRILLS is proud to sponsor and help underwrite the KNITTED KNOCKERS program. SHEEP THRILLS in addition to hosting an introduction to knitting for the girl scouts has also recently begun a mentoring program to assist Seniors who need to refresh their knitting or crocheting skills so they can once again enjoy the creative, social and emotional benefits the fiber arts have to offer. Many of our 'gals' are now participating in our Cuddle Bear and Knitted Knockers projects. A great example of 'Playing It Forward."

We all recognize that there is a significant social component to the knitting, crocheting and weaving experience. It offers a unique opportunity for people who share a common interest to interact, learn from each other, become friends and escape the stresses of everyday life. At SHEEP THRILLS we are dedicated to fostering an atmosphere where old friends can meet and new friends can be made.

At no charge we have an open Weave Night twice a month and Knitting and Crochet Time every weekend. Free help with knitting, crocheting or weaving problems is available whenever the shop is open either from us or from our loyal friends who have all committed to our philosophy of friends helping friends.

We never charge for water, soda, tea, coffee, cookies, chips, snacks or anything else. Every month we host a Birthday Bash and various themed parties for all of our customers.

Our loyalty program, THRILL SEEKERS, is the most generous anywhere. Our lounge areas are intended for our customers to sit, knit, relax and schmooze.

About Us

After retiring from a career in education and watching her local knitting shop close its doors, SHEEP THRILLS owner, Patti Jacobson (a lifelong knitter, sewer, quilter and crafter), decided to open a next generation knitting shop to serve her South Florida community.
