This captivating top-down, two-color, star-shaped shawl begins with the 6-point star motif that sets the shape for the remainder of the pattern. That is followed by alternating sections of stockinette and garter stitch rows, a fancy brioche options (garter stitch micro-stripes [alternating the colors each ridge]), some hassle-free short-row sections that create lovely yarnover holes, and finishing off with some garter stitch rows and an alternating color i-cord bind off. The group will meet weekly for 4 weeks beginning on January 26 (additional sessions will be determined by group members)
Under Taylor's Guidance you will have no difficulty with this stunning shawl. Most of it is just garter and/or stockinette. The short rows do not have any frill - you just turn the work and start knitting and then create double yarn overs where the turns were to make large lace-like holes. Honestly, the most difficult part is picking the two colors!
Materials:
Stephen West Pattern (included in price)
4 skeins of fingering weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors; 2 skeins in each color (must be purchased at Sheep Thrills)
US 5 (3.75 mm) or US 6 (4.00 mm) depending on the gauge (while gauge is not crucial for this pattern, it is good to have a nice drape for a shawl.)
