Introduction to Weaving



In this introductory class you will learn the fundamentals of setting up and using a Rigid Heddle Loom, including winding a warp, dressing the loom and weaving a finished piece.  You will learn the basics of plain weave structure by creating a scarf/cowl using yarn in the yarn kit provided for the class.  Looms are provided to students for use during this class but need to be purchased for additional classes. Students purchasing a loom from SHEEP THRILLS on the day of the class will receive a 10% discount and free assembly.

Materials required are a tape measure and a pair of scissors.

We have a limited time for lunch, please bring your lunch (we have a refrigerator and a microwave available for use).

Instructor Bio: Wendy Cappetta is our in house weaving instructor. She is a skilled weaver and a great teacher. She has the patience and personality to make you a "weaver" once you complete this intro course.
